Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I have so much respect for you and the very difficult choice you are making. I cannot imagine what it must be like for you to go through this process. As you read through my profile and look at the pictures, it is my hope that you will get a sense of who I am and what is important to me. If you do choose to put your child in my care, I promise you that I will love him or her with all of my heart and make sure that he or she knows how very much you love them too.
I realize that many of the profiles you will be looking at will be of couples. As a prospective single parent, I want to assure you of a few things. First of all, I am very blessed to be surrounded with loving family and friends who completely support my decision to adopt. A child that comes into my home will be surrounded by love. Secondly, I am choosing to be a single parent because I believe in adoption and want to open my heart and home to a child who needs an adoptive family. I look forward to meeting a special man someday to share my life with, but I can’t control when that will happen. I can, however, love a child who needs me now. I am so happy and so willing to do so! It has always been in my heart to adopt and I’m excited to welcome a child into my family. Thirdly, I am an educator, and promise you that your child will receive a high quality education. I am passionate about education. I have been an elementary school teacher for many years. My students have all been very special to me. It always warms my heart when I see or hear from someone who was in my class years ago. My career has been dedicated to working with, educating and caring for children. These experiences have prepared me well to be a mother.
I have many interests. I love to travel. I had to opportunity to go to Italy and would love to go again someday. I also love to explore places nearby like the beach, or a local park. One of my favorite spots is a horse farm and inn I enjoy visiting in Pennsylvania. I’ve always imagined taking my family there to visit the stables, feed the horses and enjoy the surrounding sights. I believe in enjoying the simple things in life and making every day special. A child in my home would be able to enjoy daily adventures, but we would also plan for special trips to exciting places.
Time spent with family and friends is precious. I love to entertain and fill my home with laughter. Growing up I always enjoyed Saturday morning breakfasts with my family. It was a time when we would sit for hours and catch up on each others’ lives and enjoy a pancake breakfast. I look forward to having those breakfasts in my own home. Time around the family table is such an important place for reconnecting and sharing with one another. I have many friends with young children. A child who comes into my home will have friends and family waiting for them!
I also value the community of the local church. I have a strong faith and would provide a child who came into my home with an opportunity to learn about God. Two holidays very special to me are Christmas and Easter. They are special family times, and I enjoy inviting friends and family into my home during these times to celebrate with me.
Friends and Family
I have a wonderfully supportive family. My mother is completely supportive of me adopting and will be the best grandma anyone has ever seen! My parents had a loving relationship but my father passed away many years ago. Having been without him for many years now, I understand what it is like to not have a father and can relate to a child who is experiencing that as well. My extended family and I are also close. It’s always fun getting together with them, catching up, and laughing together. They are very excited to welcome a new little one into the family.
While I don’t have siblings, I have been blessed with amazing friends that are like siblings. We have met through all walks of life. We remain close whether we live close to one another or many miles separate us. They all support my decision to adopt and will help me in whatever ways they can.
My Home & Community
I live in a quiet condominium neighborhood in a family oriented community. It is a suburban community with a strong school system. My neighbors are friendly and there are many families with young children. I have a spacious and comfortable home. One of the bedrooms is ready and waiting for a child. My development is also in a great location. There are many schools, parks, community resources, stores and restaurants nearby.
My Message to You
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this journey and this decision making process. You are very brave and very strong. I hope that I will be able to support you during this time. If something in my profile spoke to you, I would love to hear from you.
