Introduction

Hi, we are Cynthia and Dave. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and learn a little bit about us as a couple. It is our hope that through our profile you’ll see how excited we are to adopt and we look forward to supporting you throughout this process. We adore children and we know that your child will have a safe and loving home with us.

About us

We met six years ago at the wedding of a mutual friend. Two weeks later we had our first date and rest is history. We love to have fun and truly enjoy each other’s company. We share similar beliefs and values but our personalities complement one another as well. Growing up Dave’s true love was playing team sports and he continued that through college. Nowadays, Cynthia is the athlete in the family. She has completed triathlons, several marathons and over 25 half marathons. Dave ran one marathon in 2010, and immediately afterward, he confessed his love to Cynthia…and then told her he was done with marathons forever. Since then he prefers to stay home and play with our dog, Lulu, while Cynthia is out there pounding the pavement.

Cynthia loves to cook and her specialty is comfort foods, such as chicken fried steak, roasted chicken, lasagna, and Dave’s ultimate favorite, chicken pot pie. Dave is not nearly as skilled in the kitchen but he serves as Cynthia’s cooking assistant whenever he can and he’s always on pots and pans duty – a small price to pay to eat Cynthia’s delicious meals.

Sundays in the fall are quite an adventure in our house. Dave is an avid New York Giants fan and Cynthia is an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. We were lucky enough to attend the Super Bowl in 2011 and watch the Giants beat the Patriots, which was the only time in her life that Cynthia rooted for the Giants. Now that’s true love!

Friends and Family

We both grew up in homes that were filled with love and joy but also taught us the value of responsibility and hard work. We have family members near our home and in other states. No matter what, we are always there for one another. Cynthia just traveled to Prince Edward Island with her Mom for a fun mother/daughter vacation filled with taking in the beautiful sights, eating tons of seafood and bonding over Anne of Green Gables. Dave’s immediate family no longer lives in the area but he speaks to them weekly and we visit one another several times a year. He also has a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins that live in the area. We both feel so lucky that we continue to have a close relationship with our parents and siblings and we are ready to grow our family and share this amazing experience with our loved ones.
We both have extremely close friends and we think of them as family. When we get together with their children, we love to play hide and seek, peek-a-boo, chase and other games with the kids (and parents too)! Cynthia also teaches the kids how to bake or cook fun dishes for dinner or dessert and Dave loves to go out back and throw the ball around with the kids.

Our Home and Community

We live in a beautiful community that includes pools, grills, outdoor games, jungle gyms and more. We live on the waterfront, surrounded by parks and we frequently take walks with our dog, Lulu, to enjoy the nature around us. Lulu just celebrated her 15th birthday and is still so much fun to snuggle up next to.

Our Message To You

We are so incredibly grateful that we have this opportunity for you to learn more about us. We hope that you can see how much we love we have for one another and how much we want to share this love with your child. We cannot imagine how incredibly difficult this journey is for you and we truly admire your courage. We hope and pray that you are able to follow your heart and make the best decision for you and your child.
