Introduction
We are excited to be parents and hope you will consider us for your child. We hope as you get to know us, you will see that we have an abundance of love and patience to give. We both come from close-knit families in New Jersey. We remained in NJ so that we could maintain regular contact and strong connections with our family and friends--many of whom we consider family! We would not be the strong, compassionate couple we are today without the love, support, and stability that our families provided for us, and we know that we can do the same for our future child.
About Us
We met in 2007 in college and got married in 2014, so we have spent over 15 happy years together. We consider each other soul mates. We have a deep love for each other and a strong foundation of trust, respect, intimacy, and support. We have a long history together of amazing memories and adventures. Some of our favorite memories are camping, kayaking, hiking, picnicking, and exploring museums. We greatly enjoy travel and have traveled all over the world together. We believe that life should be lived to the fullest, and we have done our best to utilize every opportunity to seek enjoyment, fulfillment, and connection.
About Rachel:
Rachel was born and raised in New Jersey. She is a twin and a vegetarian. She works full time as a clinical psychologist. She has an extraverted personality and spends a lot of time organizing and planning events, trips, and gatherings for friends and family. Rachel love dogs and all animals. She enjoys cooking and baking: some of her signature desserts are banana bread and Nutella cookies. She excels at board games, especially word games.
About Chris:
WChris was born in Massachusetts and raised in New Jersey. Chris has an introverted personality. He is an avid reader and writer. His favorite subjects include poetry, history, and classic literature. He loves music and going to concerts and has a large record collection. When we adopt, Chris looks forward to being a full-time dad.
Our Friends and Family:
Our family can be described as close, loyal, non-judgmental, and fun. Our extended family all live in the tri-state area, and we regularly get together for birthdays, holidays, and just because. Holidays are important to our families and include traditions like playing football at Thanksgiving, watching Muppet Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve, eating pancakes while opening presents on Christmas morning, photoshoots at the beach on Mother’s Day, Valentine’s brunch, and a Hanukkah party piled high with presents and grandma’s famous latkes.
Additionally, we have a strong core of friendships from childhood and college that remain present in our lives. These friends are like family to us. Our annual traditions with friends include a yearly camping and rafting trip, Friendsgiving, game nights, Pi day baking competition, and Valentine’s fondue party.
Our Home and Community:
We live in a comfortable four-bedroom home with our dog Maple and cat Muppet in a vibrant and diverse suburban community with many young families. We live outside Philadelphia and love to visit for museums, festivals, and plays. Our neighborhood contains wooded trails where we walk Maple. There are tons of playgrounds nearby. We have a big fenced-in backyard with space for a future swing set. We love to host gatherings around the fire pit for roasted marshmallows and to barbeque on the patio. We have set up a bright and cheery nursery waiting for our future child.
Our Message to You
Our values include putting family before all else, being compassionate to yourself and others, giving generously, and investing in our experiences. We promise, if given the incredible opportunity to become parents, that our child will live a life filled with love, family, joy, adventure, opportunity, and acceptance. We promise our child will be raised with unconditional love. We promise to create a warm, nurturing, safe environment where our baby will grow and thrive. We promise to prioritize our baby above all else and provide them with every opportunity for a happy and healthy life.
