Introduction
From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for spending time getting to know us. We are John and Taylor, and we are so excited and honored to grow our family through adoption. We promise to provide our child with stability, endless love, a diverse view, steadfast support, opportunity, and a safe, loving home.
About Us
Tayor grew up near a larger city with his parents and his one older sister. From a young age, Taylor loved to perform and was lucky enough to pursue acting as a career which allowed him to travel and meet lots of different people. Since then, Taylor has turned his passion for mental healthcare into a new career. Taylor also loves singing and spending time outside exploring our neighborhood with our two dogs.
John grew up in a small town in the midwest. When he graduated college, his love for the arts took him to the city to perform. There he worked as an actor and musician. Playing the piano is one of John's favorite past times. We love sing-a-longs around the piano with family and friends. Several years ago, John shifted his focus from acting to pursuing a career in healthcare technology.
Family Life
While our families live in different parts of the country, we can see them frequently. We have one niece and two nephews who we've been lucky enough to watch grow up, inspiring us to grow our own family! They are very excited to be cousins and can't wait to welcome the new addition to our family.
The holidays are some of the best memories with our family. One of our favorite moments with our niece and nephews is storytime before bedtime on Christmas Eve. Making sure we are ready for Santa to come! We plan on building new memories and traditions with our growing family.
Our Friends and Family
During the summer, we spend as much time as we can at the lake with family and friends. We kayak, fish, hike, and sit around the campfire. There also are a ton of animals to feed and interact with - including a miniature cow. So many wonderful moments with our niece, nephews, grandparents, and other family members.
Our Home and Community:
We have a two-bedroom home - one which is currently an office but soon to be the nursery. We love spending time at home just as much as we love traveling, enjoying the city, or spending time with friends and family. Listening to vinyl records, having dinner with friends and family, and cuddling with our dogs and cat are a few of our favorite things.
We live with two beautiful and sweet dogs and one adorable cat in a suburban neighborhood near a large city with more parks and playgrounds than we can count. Our community is full of diverse families from different backgrounds. There are all kinds of child nurturing activities that we'll be excited to explore when the time comes. Taylor was a dancer and dreams of our child giving it a try if they want to! We love to enjoy all types of art. We love listening to live music outside and walking around to enjoy the graffiti art.
Our Message to You
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us through this book. We won't pretend like we know how you must be feeling right now. Still, we understand how important the decision you're making is, and we have so much respect, admiration, and gratitude for you.
We feel so lucky to have the opportunity to share with you a bit about ourselves, those most important to us, and the home and life that we've built.
We are fully committed to ensuring that your child knows and has pride in their background and uniqueness. We will do everything possible to expose them to diversity in both people and places where they can celebrate those differences.
We promise that your child will always know what a brave and selfless decision you made when choosing adoption. We promise to nurture them to be strong, kind, compassionate, and honest - always knowing that you brought them into this world.
